Clean The Dirty Oven Racks With This Revolutionary Cleaning Trick
To get started, you’ll need the following:
– Old towel
– Cleaning toothbrush
– Laundry or dishwashing detergent (preferably powdered)
For this cleaning method, you’ll also need to use your bathtub, or any other tub, where you can lay down an entire oven rack.
Let’s start with the cleaning! Put the towel at the bottom of the bathtub, to protect its surface from scathing. Then, place the oven racks on top of the old towel, plug the drain and fill the tub with an extremely hot water, enough the cover the entire surface of the racks. Using hot water is really important, as it will help activate the detergent and break down the grease.
Take half a cup of laundry or dishwashing detergent, dissolve it with some warm water, and then pour it into the tub. You can also add some baking soda and lemon, to intensify the grease degradation.
Leave the racks into the prepared bubble bath overnight.
The next day, remove the racks from the water and start scrubbing with the sponge. For better approach, use the toothbrush on the edges. This scrubbing will take only 5 to 10 minutes of your time, which is no way near the time and effort you would have spent, if you haven’t done this overnight soaking.
